The Chinese Biopharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech has built CoronaVac, an inactivated-virus vaccine<\/a> using a non-infectious variant of the virus<\/a> causing the disease, unable to infect but capable of triggering an immune response.<\/p>\n

The results of phase III of the clinical trial<\/a>, presented on the 5th of February, started on 21 July 2020 in Brazil, Turquey, Indonesia, and Chile, grouping 25.000 participants<\/a>. The results indicated a 91,25% efficacy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

CoronaVac consists of 2-dose<\/a> series that are administered with 14 days difference<\/a>. Almost twenty countries<\/a> mainly distributed between Latin America and Asia are immunising their population with this vaccine.<\/p>\n

The most common side effect<\/a>, according to the researchers, is pain at the injection site.<\/p>\n
